Giving Oral Directions

Some students don't follow oral directions well. There are several things you can do for such students.

One thing you can do is to stand directly in front of or close to the student whenever you give directions. Another thing you can do is to have the student sit in the front center of the classroom.

If feasible, use a signal that you are about to give directions, such as quickly turning the lights on and off. As a matter of course, check to see that the student's hearing has been checked recently.
