Chronological Order
Here is a way you can reinforce your students’ knowledge about the Revolutionary War and at the same time reinforce their mastery of chronological order.
Below you will find some significant events of the Revolutionary War in incorrect chronological order. Have your students rearrange the events in the correct chronological order. Doing this will even help their research skills. (The year shown in parentheses should not be shown to the students.)
- Paul Revere makes his midnight ride. (1775)
- Benedict Arnold is identified as a traitor. (1780)
- The First Continental Congress meets in Philadelphia. (1774)
- The Boston Massacre takes place. (1770)
- The United States Constitution is signed. (1787)
- The Articles of Confederation are adopted. (1781)
