No Clutter
Survey your classroom at the beginning of the school year. More than likely, there is no clutter, and everything is in its place. Do another survey later in the year. The chances are that you will see clutter with supplies and materials all over the place. This presents two problems. First, it will be difficult to find what you need when you need it. Second, it will be difficult for you and the students to move about the classroom when necessary. This is to say nothing of the lack of aesthetic appeal. Periodically survey your classroom and get rid of “junk” – don’t be a hoarder.
