Weekly Progress Report
Report cards are a valuable means of providing feedback to both students and their parents.  For some students, it is important to provide formal feedback on a more frequent basis (i.e., weekly).
Weekly Progress Reports can meet this need.  Grades for the week should be provided for effort, achievement, and behavior.  The student is required to take the report home at the end of each school week and return it at the beginning of the next week signed by a parent.  In middle school and high school, coordination between teachers should be the responsibility of the student`s home room teacher.
Our experience has shown that the grade for effort is especially important.  Effort is the one category that is totally within the control of the student.  Increased effort raises achievement. Higher achievement results in better behavior.
